Ophtho On-call Case 1: Introduction

History of Present Illness (HPI)

You are the ophthalmology resident on call when you get a page from your emergency medicine colleague in the ED. She informs you of a new consult: a 36 year old female with a chief complaint of new onset floaters for the last day with associated flashes of light. She endorses an area of blurry vision in the bottom left corner of her vision.

What additional questions do you want to ask?
Which eye does she have symptoms in?
How long do the flashes of light last?
How is her central vision?
Any history of trauma?
Does the patient have any prior ocular history?
